Making our Wedding Rings

Ruth and I made each others wedding rings at the Wedding Ring Workshop in Edinburgh. That way, we both got exactly what we wanted, and they were just that little bit special because we'd made them ourselves!

	After the first shaping, the platinum of my band is heated to anneal it...
	...so it isn't brittle when it is bent into shape.
	Once it is nice and round, Ruth takes an oxy-acetylene torch to it...
	... to melt the solder that completes the band.
	We take a brief break for a smile...
	...before getting into the hard work filing the rings to their final shape.
	Ruth's ring is smaller, so I get an easier job...
	...than Ruth, who also has to watch out for her nails!
	Ruth gives my ring a polish.
