Diving at Dogfish Reef, Loch Fyne

Out with Divetech this weekend - thanks to all who organised and to Brian and Alison for letting me tag along with them. Oh, the stories I could tell. In the interests of friendship however, I will restrain myself!

2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0000.jpg My favourite photo of the trip, I think Sea Loch Anemones are so beautiful and delicate. This is the sort of view that I love diving for. It's just so magical and other-worldly.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0001.jpg The reef lived up to its name right from the start. One digfish hiding in a hole, with the tail of another lying over it!
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0002.jpg Another dogfish lurking in a hole. Apparently they come here at this time of year to mate, but this one seems to be alone.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0004.jpg A little cluster standing proud on the edge of a rock. This is an artificial reef made with spoil from Furnace Quarry, so the rocks are unusually angular.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0003.jpg Sea Loch Anemone. Theme emerging? Surely not... It looks dark in these shots, but actually it was quite light at 27m - it's just the way I am setting up the flash that makes it look dark - I like the effect.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0005.jpg Another little cluster of life, you can see the tube for a peacock worm here but he wasn't coming out to play...
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0006.jpg Some of these dogfish are about three feet long, and when disturbed they swim really close, mistaking the divers for shelter!
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0007.jpg Starfish in shallower water.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0011.jpg A large spiny starfish.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0010.jpg Some old quarry related metalwork forms a home for these red sea-squirts.
2008-03-16_Dogfish_Reef_0008.jpg Seaweed in the shallows, showing off the good visibility.
